DUO Mobile VPN Access
Logging In
After entering your Windows username and password to login to the machine, you will receive a Duo Push and be presented with the screen below. Prior to accepting the push on your phone, you will want to mark the “Remember me” option on your laptop to avoid authenticating Duo every time you login. This will remember you for 12 hours if you do not change network connections. If you attempt to connect from a different location within those 12 hours, you will need to reauthenticate.
Offline Access
The first time you login using Duo, you will receive a prompt to setup Offline Access. This will allow you to login to the laptop even if you do not have a network connection. Below are instructions setting up Offline Access.
- When prompted, Duo Mobile Passcode should be selected already, but select it if it is not, then click Activate Now.
- Open Duo Mobile on your phone and click on +Add in the top right corner. Then select User QR Code at the top of the next screen.
- Scan the QR Code that is displayed on your laptop with the window showing on your phone.
- Enter a name for the new connection.
- Tap on the account you just added to generate a passcode and enter that passcode into the screen on your laptop.
- Click the Activate Offline Login, and the setup will be complete.
- When authenticating with Offline Access, you will be prompted for the 6 digit passcode rather than receiving the push notification.
- You are limited to the number of offline logins, but it will reset once you connect to a network.
